Cold snap

This past week, the city of Los Angeles is experiencing a "cold snap"—daytime highs in the 50s. The horror.

As a graduate of Syracuse University, I know cold. And this is the real deal. But not for how cold it is outside. The problem with this town is there is no heat. Possibly no insulation. It's the same in offices, apartments, stores, you name it. Basically when it's 50 degrees outside, it's also 50 degrees inside. So I finally understand why Angelenos own furs and winter hats—but I still don't get why they wear them when the temperature drops all the way to...60.

Jimmy Kimmel summed up the local reactions to the weather pretty well. Watch here.
