Family time

By the time you read this, I'll be on a red-eye flight to the East Coast. I am spending a week with my family in New Jersey.

It's a been a crazy few months in family-land. As some of you know, my mom is undergoing chemo for uterine cancer. She has been amazingly positive and brave throughout the whole experience, and so far the prognosis is as good as it can be, considering the circumstances. It's been hard to be so far away from her, so I can't wait to be with her to celebrate her 66th birthday. Speaking of birthdays, my sister Annette gave birth last Friday to my newest niece, Aniela Yvonne, so I will be meeting the baby for the first time. It's going to be a rad week.
