Living on Navy St., I am surrounded by some pretty awesome architecture: There's everything from refurbished bungalows to ultra-modern spaces to the just plain weird. I always walk by these homes imagining who lives there and what it might be like inside.
So I was excited when I heard about the Venice Garden & Home Tour.
On this annual, self-guided walking tour, you get to wander around 30 of the
most creative gardens and homes in the neighborhood, while
benefiting the Neighborhood Youth Association.
This is why I love my town. What other city would host a "dream home" tour featuring places with AstroTurf walls, a rooftop blanketed in blooms, multiple tree houses, a kitchen table "floating" over a garden or an office made out of a Home Depot shed? There was some crazy creative, jealousy-inducing, mind-blowing home porn, and I loved every second of it. As Dan put it, "This is like your Superbowl." I am totally in for next year; who's with me?

Welcome Back and thanks for sharing such cool pictures!
Thanks for reading, Linda :)
Glad you're back! Those are some beautiful gardens!
SO much more interesting than the UES! (Except for the Two Little Red Hen bakery!)
@Annette, I know I wish I could have a giant garden like that.
@Danielle, totally awesome but yes, totally lacking Two Little Red Hens bakery. Miss that place so much.
Welcome back! I like that people create their own little oases in unlikely places. A low maintenance astroturf wall is a great idea for many busy lifestyles.
I do believe that we are all in need of a AstroTurf wall.
Welcome back Sis! Very interesting pics. I think it's time to remodel. I need the inspiration.
